Hi,

I hope this pops up on your  email alert and the addition of the option to be notified when I add a new post is working.  This blogging is still the wild west to me.

As life unfolds, I’ll send off messages.  As of now, I’m waiting for the next CT of the lung.  Hopefully the lung lesion will continue to decrease in size and will show radiographic features of transforming to a scar.  But that won’t happen till late May.  By the way these CT scans pack a lot of radiation, about 200 to 500 times more than your average chest X-ray.  Maybe that is why I’m glowing.

Best wishes and take care

Jim

    Hi Jim,
I move with trepidation into this particular world of communication but you have inspired me. It is so great to have updates on your process. Keep this going.

    Jim,

I just called Nancy at your office to get an update and found out she is on maternity leave, so I am very glad to hear you have this blog site. You are a GREAT Doctor and now you will become a great “techie”. I can’t wait until you are healthy, strong and back in Santa Cruz, I can only imagine how eager you are to be back too. Even though the winds in So. Cal are not as good as Monterey Bay, are you able to go sailing while you are hanging out? Lisa and I went to San Francisco on Sunday and watched the fireworks for the Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary from a boat in the Bay. Great show and really fun seeing it from the water. Looking forward to getting your progress reports via this blog. If there is anything you want us to send you, or anything you need taken care of in Santa Cruz, do not hesitate to ask, we would love to help out. Stay strong.

    Aloha,

    Chip Goldeen

  8. The Wild West, what rough days and ways, hopefully this form of mystery is a bit less radical and dangerous than that, but I am glad to hear you were/are having fun with it 🙂
The Engelmans always seem to glow of something, but i like your personalized extra energetic glow more. Glad to hear that it wasnt as big. I remember when that was happening. I’d think about you everyday, just wishing, hoping, that you would make it through it. You did it!!!
    ^.^
    Love,
    your youngest
